传动滚筒是输送机传递动力的部件。传动滚筒表面有裸露光钢面，人字形和菱形花纹橡胶覆面。小功率、小带宽及环境干燥时可采用裸露光钢面。人字形花纹胶面摩擦系数大，防滑性和排水性好，但有方向性。菱形胶面用于双向运行的输送机。
The driving roller is the part of the conveyor which transmits the power. The surface of the driving drum has exposed smooth steel surface, herringbone and diamond rubber covering. Bare bare steel surface can be used for small power, small bandwidth and environmental drying. Herringbone pattern rubber surface has large friction coefficient, good antiskid and drainage performance, but has directionality. Diamond rubber surface is used for two-way conveyor.

传动滚筒是带式输送机传递动力的主要部件，其驱动带式输送机的方式有单滚筒、双滚筒及多滚筒之分。单滚筒多用于功率不太大的输送机上，如煤矿地面运输及选煤厂等处。井下带式输送机一般均采用双滚筒，以使输送机结构紧凑。
The driving roller is the main part of the belt conveyor to transmit the power. The driving methods of the belt conveyor include single roller, double roller and multi roller. Single drum is mainly used in conveyor with low power, such as coal mine ground transportation and coal preparation plant. Generally, the underground belt conveyor adopts double rollers to make the structure compact.

传动滚筒从制作材料上来分有钢板卷制焊接、铸钢及铸铁3种。从结构型式上来分有装配辐板式、辐条式、整体辐板式3种。另外，滚筒表面也有光面、包胶、铸胶等型式;其中，以钢板焊接装配辐板式铸胶滚筒应用最为广泛。
